GLENDIVE – Alexius Foster officially became a member of the 1,000 Point Club at Dawson Community College. Foster was able to make that accomplishment official after scoring 24 points against North Dakota State College of Science on February 8, 2019. She signed with the women’s basketball team in 2017, having many accolades at Franklin Pierce High School in Tacoma, Washington, including leading the state of Washington in scoring.

In her freshman debut in college, Foster racked up a total of 574 points for the 2017-2018 season. This year, she currently has 465 points for a total career of 1,039. She has surpassed Janniqua Thomas, who had 1,025 points for the Lady Bucs from 2012-2014, as the second leading scorer of all-time. Kaila Fowler of Great Falls, MT currently holds the record of 1,224 points from 2001-2003.

There are officially 5 games left in the season for DCC. Foster will try her best to get as close as possible, especially if the post season is friendly to the team. Foster commented, “Reaching 1,000 points and being the second all-time leading scorer at Dawson Community College is one of many accomplishments I’ve had here at Dawson. I hope to be on the list of more to come in the rest of my college career. I’m proud and honored to say I was able to accomplish these milestones, and with the help of present and future coaches, I hope to continue to have success and make my family, teammates and the community proud.”

Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. is very happy for Foster, “She deserves it! Alexius has had a tremendous impact during her two years at Dawson. We are proud to have her as a Lady Buccaneer. I’m sure she will continue on to accomplishing more in her career at the next level.”
