DICKINSON, N.D. — Dickinson State University recently announced the signing of Kaitlyn Keithley of Sidney, Montana to run for the Blue Hawk track and field team. Keithley has been a standout sprinter for the Sidney Eagles, qualifying for and competing at the Montana Class A state track and field championships in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, long jump and the 400-meter relay.
“We are excited to bring Kaitlyn into the Blue Hawk family. She’s had some of her best performances in the biggest moments. She has had PRs at the super divisional and at state. We are really excited about her future,” said head coach Shayne Wittkopp.
Kaitlyn will join a host of other Sidney Eagles on the DSU track team.
The DSU men’s track and field program also recently announced the addition of Miles City sprinter Keith Vanderlaan. Vanderlaan was Montana’s Class A champion in the 100- and 200-meter dashes, while also running on the winning 400-meter relay last year for the Custer County Cowboys, where he helped lead them to a second-place finish at the MHSA Class A meet.
“Keith’s talent is undeniable. We are blessed to have this young man joining the team. It’s going to be exciting to see what he will be able to do at the next level”, said Wittkopp.
Vanderlaan will join team with former Miles City Cowboy Tyler Burk, who captured a North Star Athletic Conference 400-meter hurdle title last year as a freshman.
