GLENDIVE – Dawson Community College runners competed against four NCAA Division II universities Friday at the 2018 NCAA Division II Regional Preview meet at Amend Park in Billings.

The men raced a 10k instead of the 8k distance they’re accustomed to. First in for Dawson was Bryce Maxson in 36:56, followed by DCC’s Eric Amaya in 41:45. James Estey (42:03), Kolte Copp (44:12) and Austin Rysavy (44:55) rounded out Dawson’s top five.

“The men accepted the challenge of running 2k more than they had ever raced before and many of them came through the 8k mark at a personal best time for the season, or at least their second best performance of the year, ” said head coach Ben Sandy. “I’m proud of how far these five young men have come in such a short amount of time, and I know they will only continue to get better. I am very excited to see how the team does this Friday in Dillon.”

The Dillon meet will be the final regular season  finale for the DCC’s program.
