Dawson Community College volleyball women sweep Bottineau

GLENDIVE – The Dawson Community College volleyball team beat Dakota College Bottineau Friday, bouncing back after losing a pair of close matches the week before.

The Lady Bucs took a commanding lead in the first set and never looked back with a first set score of 25-8. This set the tone for the rest of the match. The Lady Jacks tried to make a push at the beginning of set two but the Bucs closed the door shut on them and went up 2-0 into intermission with a 25-12 win. The third set the Bucs continued their dominance and won 25-9 to close out the match with a 3-0 victory.

The leaders for the match were Shayna Baugh with 15 kills and 4.5 blocks. Cierra Loudon followed closely behind with 7 kills and also tallied 11 digs. Nynah Bryant led the team with 19 assists and Samantha Youngman put in 10. Adalie Reinhart led in aces with 5 and Erin Campbell tied with Loudon in digs with 11.

The Lady Bucs were celebrating “Pink Night” to show support for anyone affected by breast cancer. DCC volleyball team donated all 50-50 procedes and gate money received, along with other donations to the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk that will be held on Saturday, October 13th.

The Bucs play their last home game of the regular season on October 22nd at 7 p.m. when they will be honoring their sophomores.
