GLENDIVE – Dawson Community College volleybal coach Dina Fritz announced the signing of Shayna Baugh of Brigham City, UT, on Thursday.
Baugh is a 5’11” middle blocker who was key in helping Box Elder High School claim the State 5A Championship in Utah.
“When I was watching her play in her state tournament I could tell that she was very athletic and could help us out next season,” Fritz said. “When she came on her recruit trip she fit right in with the girls and didn’t skip a beat,” Fritz added. Baugh was one of The Standard Examiners Second Team selections. She was also voted as KUTVs Prep of the Week in October 2017 and received honors of the 2017 All-Tribune team, as well as the Salt Lake Tribunes All-State First Team for Class 5A.”
“I’m excited to play with a new team and start college at DCC,” said Baugh upon signing.
“Shayna will be a great asset to have,” said Fritz. “With her agility and being able to run slides and behind the setter it will make us stronger all around.”
