GLENDIVE – Emily Harwood (Conrad, MT) of Dawson Community College Women’s Basketball will continue her career at the College of Idaho, an NAIA member school located in Caldwell, ID.
In the last 7 seasons, College of Idaho has made it to the Cascade Conference playoffs every year. This past season, the Lady Yotes had an 11-16 overall record with a fifth place standing out of 11 conference teams.
At Dawson, Harwood was the team’s leader in steals and rebounds. She averaged 11 ppg and 7 rpg, shooting 39% from the field. During her sophomore year, she recorded a career high of 25 points against Stone Child College on January 25th and grabbed 19 rebounds against Little Big Horn College on November 27th.
Emily commented on her new venture, “My time at Dawson has been so amazing! I’ve learned so much in basketball and life, while meeting so many amazing people along the way! I thank God for all the opportunities He has blessed me with; which includes the chance to continue my love of the game at the College of Idaho! I’m excited to see where this next chapter in life will take me!”
Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. commented on her signing, “The Dawson family is so happy for Emily. I remember recruiting her and she did not want to come to Glendive, then after another long conversation, I convinced her to become a Lady Buc and what that would entail for her in the near future. By her sophomore year, she became one of our most important pieces during another successful winning season. Emily is willing to do what it takes to win and she has always been a great ambassador for our program and DCC as a whole. I wish we could get 10 more players like her!”
