GLENDIVE – Game #1-Dawson Community College Softball Beats Dakota College at Bottineau by Six Runs

Dawson Community College easily dispatched Dakota College at Bottineau 10-4 on Wednesday. Dawson opened up scoring in the first inning, when Reannon Justice singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run. Lady Bucs pulled away for good with four runs in the third inning. In the third, Lexi Pettersen singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and Justice singled on a 3-0 count, scoring two runs. Dawson tallied five runs in the sixth inning. Katelyn Teixeira, Jayden Draper, Anna Snyder, and Jordyn O’Neal each drove in runs during the inning. Hailee Gregerson led things off on the rubber for Dawson. She went seven innings, allowing four runs on six hits and striking out 11.

Cunningham was on the mound for the Lady Jacks. She allowed 13 hits and ten runs over six innings, striking out four. Dawson racked up 13 hits. Jayden Draper, Kylee Hergenrider, Katelyn Teixeira, Reannon Justice, and Lexi Pettersen each racked up multiple hits for. Draper went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Lady Buccaneers in hits. Fischer led Dakota Colleg with two hits in three at bats.

Game #2-Dawson Clinches Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Dakota College

Dawson ran off with the lead late in the game in a 6-5 victory over Dakota College. The game was tied at five with Dawson batting in the bottom of the sixth when an error scored one run for Lady Bucs. Dawson earned the victory despite allowing Dakota to score three runs in the fifth inning. Dakota batters contributing to the big inning included Fischer, Cantu, and Cunningham, who all drove in runs.

She went six innings, allowing five runs on eight hits, striking out nine and walking zero. Livingstone started the game for the Lady Jacks. She allowed five hits and six runs over six innings, striking out four. Reannon Justice led Dawson with two hits in three at bats. Dakota had nine hits in the game. Fischer, Marenna, and Cantu each collected multiple hits for Dakota College.
