GLENDIVE – DCC men’s basketball coach Joe Peterson has announced the signing of Devin Collins from Rangeview High School in Colorado.

Collins is a 6’5″ forward from Aurora who averaged 10 points and eight rebounds per game. He was a 1st team all-conference selection for the 5A School. He also won the Coach’s Award and Most Improved Player Award while leading his team in rebounding.

Collins had this to say about his decision: “DCC is the school for me. As soon as I walked on the campus, I knew I was home. Knowing they had my major was huge because not many schools have my major. The team ball they play is like nowhere I have ever seen. Having been on many other visits, this team was the hardest working team hands down. The coaches were very hands on and they are very straight forward. I felt like everything they said was true and I know they can push me to be the player I want to be!”

Coach Peterson said, “The first thing you notice about Devin is his length. The second thing is that he does a lot of little things. He takes charges, dives on the floor and makes the extra pass. Because of an injury as a junior, he has only played 1 year of varsity basketball. With his length, athleticism and work ethic, he is just scratching the surface of what he is capable of.”

Collins is the 4th player to sign a Letter of Intent for the 2018-2019 season. He will be joining a program that went 24-8 last year and reached the Regional Championship Game.
