San Diego State at Wyoming airs Wednesday on CBS Sports Network

LARAMIE, Wyo. – The Wyoming Cowboys basketball team will wrap up its two-game road swing on Wednesday for a Valentine’s Day matchup at San Diego State. The contest is set for a 9 p.m. start in Viejas Arena. The Pokes took the first game of the season in the Mountain West opener on Dec. 27 by a score of 82-69.

The game will be televised on CBS sports Network with Rich Waltz on the call with Bob Wenzel on the color. Fans can listen and follow live stats on GoWyo.com. The game will be broadcast live on radio over the 25 affiliate stations of the Cowboy Sports Network. Dave Walsh will have the play-by-play alongside Kevin McKinney on the color.

The Pokes head into the contest with a 16-9 overall record and a 7-5 mark in the MW following Saturday’s loss at UNLV. The Cowboys have made 214 threes this season for the fifth most in school history. Wyoming is fifth in the MW in threes and average 8.6 per game.

Wyoming is grabbing 29.2 defensive rebounds per game on the season to lead the league and rank eighth in the nation. Wyoming also leads the conference and ranks eighth in the nation in free throws made with 467 on the season. The Pokes make 18.7 freebies per game.

The Aztecs head into Wednesday’s game with a 13-10 overall record and a 5-7 mark in league play after falling to No. 23 Nevada on Saturday. SDSU leads the MW and ranks No. 18 in the nation in fewest fouls with 385 on the season.

San Diego State is second in the MW in scoring defense at 69.0 per game. SDSU holds opponents to 42.2 percent from the field for second in the conference. The Aztecs are third in the league in rebounds per game at 38.2.

The Pokes are led in scoring by junior guard Justin James at 18.3 points per game for fifth in the MW and No. 95 in the nation. James leads the league in total field goal attempts with 341 on the year. Senior forward Hayden Dalton adds 17.9 points per game for sixth in the MW. He also leads UW at 8.2 rebounds per game for fifth in the league. He has scored 20 or more points in six of his last seven games and went over 1,000 career points last Saturday at UNLV.

Senior forward Alan Herndon adds 11.7 points per game. He leads the MW in blocks per game at 2.2 for No. 33 in the nation. His 55 total blocks leads the MW as well and ranks No. 30 in the nation. Senior guard Louis Adams adds 9.1 points per game off the bench. He is No. 11 in the MW in free throws made with 84.

The Aztecs are led in scoring by guard Devin Watson at 13.1 points per game. He also leads the team dishing out four assists per game for fourth in the MW. He has made a team-high 36 three pointers. Forward Malik Pope adds 12.6 points per game and he also second on the team grabbing 7.0 rebounds per game. Forward Jalen McDaniels leads SDSU grabbing 7.1 rebounds per game and also adds 9.4 points per night.

The Cowboys lead the all-time series 41-40 with the first meeting dating back to Jan. 12, 1979. The Pokes took the first contest in Laramie by a score of 82-69, as UW snapped a three game losing streak to the Aztecs.

Wyoming returns home on Saturday hosting San Jose State at 2 p.m. in the Arena-Auditorium. The game will be available on the Mountain West Network.
