LARAMIE, Wyo. — Olivia Roberts scored a game-high 20 points to help lead the Wyoming women’s basketball team to a 58-46 Mountain West Conference win over San Jose State on Saturday.

Roberts, a former Missoula Sentinel High School star, made seven of 14 field goal attempts in the win, including a 4-of-5 mark from 3-point range. She added three rebounds, three steals, one block and one assist for the Cowgirls, who won the game at the free throw line. Wyoming made 12 of 15 free throws, while San Jose State attempted just three free throws in the game.

After a strong first half, Wyoming built its largest lead of the game — 13 points — early in the third quarter. But the Cowgirls went cold from there as San Jose State clawed back into the game, closing to within 43-39 early in the fourth quarter.

Roberts answered with a personal 6-0 run, though, to grow the lead back to double digits, and the Cowgirls would hold on for the 12-point win. Bailee Cotton added 16 points for Wyoming.

San Jose State was led by Fieme’a Hafoka’s 10 points.

The Cowgirls have now won seven consecutive games, improving to 14-5 overall and 7-1 in the Mountain West. They’ll stay at home next week, hosting Colorado State at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.
