CORVALLIS, Ore. – Tres Tinkle recorded his seventh career double-double, scoring 19 points and grabbing 12 rebounds, to help Oregon State to a 76-64 win over rival Oregon at Gill Coliseum on Friday.

Tinkle, the former Missoula Hellgate High School star, led a balanced Oregon State attack. The Beavers got 16 points from Stephen Thompson Jr., 15 from Drew Eubanks and 12 from Seth Berger. Former Billings Skyview standout Kendal Manuel chipped in nine points, including two second-half 3-pointers that helped OSU open up a double-digit lead.

As a team, Oregon State shot 53 percent from the field and 46 percent from 3-point range. Oregon converted just 36 percent of its attempts from the field and 28 percent from 3.

With the win, Oregon State improves to 10-5 overall and 2-1 in the Pac-12 Conference, already doubling its conference win total from last season. OSU stumbled to a 1-17 conference mark during last year’s injury-plagued season. Wayne Tinkle took over the Beavers’ program in 2014 after spending eight years as the head coach at Montana.

The Beavers opened up conference play with a 76-57 win over Colorado on Dec. 29 before losing 66-64 to Utah on Dec. 31. The Utes are coached by former Montana great Larry Krystkowiak.

After three home games to begin the conference slate, OSU leaves the friendly confines of Gill Coliseum next week, embarking on its most difficult road trip of the season. The Beavers play at 14th-ranked Arizona on Jan. 11 and at No. 4 Arizona State on Jan. 13.
