Montana Grizzlies preparing for UC Davis defense

MISSOULA — Montana is now just two days away from its Big Sky Conference football opener against the UC Davis Aggies.

It seems like a trend for Montana this year, but each week the Grizzlies have taken on a veteran offensive line and quarterback. Coach Bobby Hauck touched on how hard that is to stop week in and week out, but the Griz also bring experience at the quarterback position with second-year starter Dalton Sneed.

However, that UC Davis defense has been stingy lately.

The Aggies gave up only 13 points to Lehigh, and their defense kept them in last week's game into the fourth quarter against top-ranked North Dakota State.

"Defensively we thought they were a pretty good team last year and they have a bunch of guys back, so we have a tall order. They are multiple, they are not afraid to man you -- in fact, I think that's their preference. They have good defensive backs and they have some guys that can get there. So, they don't have to cover too long. Again, that's kind of them, they go after you," said Hauck.

That game kicks off at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
