BUTTE – The Butte High Bulldogs wrestling team headed to Billings yesterday for the state championships in the Metro.
The Bulldogs are no newbie to this arena and have a good chance to come away with a lot of individual state championships and even an overall team championship in class AA. Among the best to ever wrestle at Butte is senior Carl Anderson who will conclude a record-breaking career with one last go in the purple Bulldog uniform. For Carl there would be no better way to prove that all his hard work paid off then, to take home a 160 pound class AA wrestling state championship.
“I wanna just go out there and do my best the best I can do. It would mean a lot to go out on a high note it would make me feel better about all the work i put in to go out on a high note, but you know you gotta go out and compete and see what happens,” said Anderson.
“Yea I mean a state championship for Carl is in the works, winning divisionals was a huge step for him he’s still gotta go through some tough kids. Carl has prepared this is what he’s prepared all year for and his whole career for, and I don’t think it’s too big for him,” said Butte head coach Cory Johnston.
