BOZEMAN – One of the top wrestlers in the state and the entire country signed his name on the dotted line to a Big-12 school.

Bozeman’s Chance McLane officially committed to Oklahoma State University on Wednesday. The Cowboys are one of the top wrestling schools, currently ranking third in the country behind only Penn State (1) and Ohio State (2).

McLane will fit right into one of the country’s premiere programs. Last season as a junior, McLane finished undefeated and won a state title at 145 pounds. In the offseason, he had the opportunity to practice at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. And he knows OSU is the right fit.

“They just share a lot of hobbies. They are a bunch of cool guys and they’re really good at what they do and everything about it just fit really well. It’s a good place,” said McLane. “It feels good, I know I can get a lot better there, it’s a good place for me.”

The sky is the limit for McLane, who placed second at the World Team Trials this summer. He even has a shot at making an Olympic or World Team in the future. But for now, college is taken care of and McLane said he is moving up to the 152-pound division, and hopes to go undefeated once again this season.
