Helena High prepares for State AA volleyball tournament behind setter Emily Feller

Posted

HELENA– The Helena High Bengals are headed to the Class AA volleyball state tournament starting on Thursday. According to Bengals head coach Lindsey Day, it’s the pieces of the whole that make this unit one not to be trifled with.

Bengals setter Emily Feller is near the top of Class AA leaderboards in assists per set and attack efficiency. As someone who sets people up on the court, it should be no surprise that Feller was quick to attribute her success this season to her teammates.

“I think it’s just my total faith in my team and just knowing that they’re going to put the ball away when I get them a good set,” said Feller. “And having my back row players give me a perfect set, that helps me so much.”

While Day did say that her team was comprised of top-level athletes, she beamed at the opportunity to shed some light on her setter.

“Feller is just an athlete, she really is, she is a true athlete. And she works really hard and she’s committed and she just is really court smart,” said Day. “She’s just a great, fun kid to coach.”

The Bengals will attempt to set off on the right foot when they take on the Billings Senior Broncs in the first round the state tournament.
