BELT – In the second day of the Northern C divisional volleyball tournament at Belt High School, the match of the day featured the hometown Huskies taking on the Chinook Sugarbeeters in the undefeated semifinal.
Belt took the first set, but then Chinook responded and took the second set to tie it 1-1. Belt would rebound and claim the next two sets to win 25-11, 23-25, 25-17, 25-20.
The Huskies move on to the Northern C title game on Saturday.
Here’s how the games played out on Day 2:
Match 7: Power def. Dutton-Brady 25-14, 25-9, 25-17, loser-out
Match 8: Fort Benton def. Box Elder 26-24, 25-9, 25-15, loser-out
Match 9: Simms def. Power 3-0, loser-out
Match 10: North Star def. Fort Benton 3-2, loser-out
Match 11: Belt def. Chinook 25-11, 23-25, 25-17, 25-20, undefeated semifinal
Here’s the schedule for Day 3:
Match 12: Simms vs. North Star, loser-out, 10 a.m. (loser gets fourth place)
Match 13: Simms/North Star winner vs. Chinook, loser-out, 30 minutes after Match 12 (loser gets third place)
Match 14: Belt vs. Match 13 winner, championship, 4 p.m.
Match 15: Second championship, if necessary, 30 minutes after Match 14
