MISSOULA – No point came easy on Tuesday night, but Missoula Sentinel scored just enough to pick up a crosstown volleyball win over Missoula Big Sky, 3-1.

Sentinel built a lead in the first set before Big Sky came storming back at the end. Lizzie Clawson finished the comeback with a kill to give Big Sky the 28-26 win.

The second set went back and forth, with Big Sky building a big early lead and Sentinel responding to take a big lead late. Once again, the Eagles made a run at the end to force extra points. But Sentinel’s Sheridan Schweyen finally finished off another long set with a kill through an Eagles block to win 29-27.

Big Sky stayed with the Spartans through two more tight sets. But this time Sentinel finished with slightly less drama, 25-22 and 25-21.

You can watch the entire thrilling match on the KPAX Prep Game of the Week, after the 10 p.m. News Saturday night.

Two-time defending state champion Sentinel improves to 4-6 in Western AA play. Big Sky falls to 0-10. Both teams co-host the Missoula Volleyball Invite, with 16 teams coming to the Garden City on Thursday and Friday.
