After handing Helena High its first conference loss of the 2018 season, Kalispell Flathead climbed in the latest Class AA volleyball poll, landing at No. 3 this week. League coaches vote weekly in the polls, and moved the Bravettes ahead of both Billings West and Billings Senior.

Helena High and Helena Capital remain the top two teams in the poll, despite the Bengals’ first league loss of the season on Saturday, the 24-26, 25-21, 20-25, 25-23, 15-8 defeat at the hands of the Bravettes. Helena bounced back with a five-set win over nonconference foe Bozeman on Monday night.

Helena High improved to 19-3 overall with Monday’s win over Bozeman, but the Bengals’ first league loss dropped them to 9-1 in Western AA play. Helena Capital (19-2, 9-1) is in second place, with Helena High currently owning the head-to-head tiebreaker from a straight-set sweep over the Bruins last month.

Flathead (13-10, 7-3) has clinched a top-three seed in the conference. The top two seeds earn automatic byes to the state tournament in Bozeman Nov. 8-10.

Below are the results of the weekly Class AA coaches poll. First-place votes are in parenthesis.
