DEER LODGE – The Deer Lodge Wardens welcomed in the Anaconda Copperheads for another chapter of the historic rivalry on Thursday, this time on the volleyball court.

The night started out with a pregame ceremony to show appreciation for anyone who has fought a battle with cancer, and the Wardens donned pink jerseys for the game.

The Wardens, who are one of the better teams in Class B, started out hot, running up the score to a staggering 16-3 early in the first set. Alyssa Lamb and Sophia Barton were drilling lasers at the Copperheads, making it almost impossible for a return. The Copperheads got a nice rally going thanks to some nice serves from Ashton Blubaugh, but the Wardens rolled on and took Set 1 by a score of 25-10.

The Copperheads took the second set 25-22, but Deer Lodge responded with wins in the third set, 25-16, and fourth set, 25-23, to win the rivalry matchup.
