BOZEMAN – The Bozeman Hawks volleyball team bounced back after losing the first set to defeat rival Butte 18-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-15 on Tuesday night.
The Bulldogs (8-13 overall, 3-4 conference) used their lengthy defense to establish a lead in the first set, with both 6-foot-2 middle blockers Emma Field and Kira Mortensen rejecting several spikes at the front of the net.
But Bozeman (16-6, 5-2) rallied to sweep the next three sets behind senior Mara Lynch, who had 23 kills in the contest.
Both teams are back in action on Friday. The Hawks play host to Great Falls CMR, while Butte will hit the road to face Billings Skyview on Friday.
