Lewistown volleyball storms back for 5-set comeback win over Great Falls CMR

GREAT FALLS – The Lewistown volleyball team rallied from a two-set deficit to defeat Class AA foe Great Falls CMR in five thrilling sets on Thursday.

Even without star middle blocker Allie Olsen, the Rustlers dominated the first two sets, posting 25-15 and 25-13 wins to go up 2-0 in the match. Olsen, who recorded 26 kills in a five-set crosstown win over Great Falls High on Tuesday, rested in the non-conference match.

Lewistown rallied back with a 25-19 win in the third set and a 26-24 win in the fourth to force a fifth and decisive set. The Eagles came out on top in a closely contested final set 19-17 to complete the comeback.

The Eagles move to 7-6 overall, while the Rustlers fall to 9-10 overall.

In more non-conference action, the Great Falls High Bison defeated Havre on the road in four sets 25-15, 21-25, 25-17, 26-24.
