BUTTE – In a cross-class match, the Class A Butte Central Maroons welcomed in the Class B Anaconda Copperheads to the Maroon Activity Center on Tuesday night. The Maroons swept the Copperheads 25-21, 25-20, 25-22.
The first set was a good indication of how the night would go. Butte Central jumped out at one point to a 10-point lead. Marissa Anderson and Allyson Mueller dominated in front of the net, making more than half their returns un-hittable. Anaconda, however, had some fight. Down 24-15, the Copperheads would rally back for six unanswered points before a simple miss-serve into the net clinched the deal for the Lady Maroons in Set 1.
The Maroons are back in business on Thursday as they host Dillon at 7 p.m. Meanwhile, Anaconda looks to rebound Thursday at home as it takes on Florence at 7 p.m.
