HELENA — With divisions for kids as young as 7 years old, the Helena Vigilantes and Novas have an activity for everyone … as long as you like to run.

The Vigilantes are designated as the adult portion of the club and the Novas are the youth organization that has track and field and cross country teams. There is no cost for the adult club and the costs associated with the Novas are kept to a minimum said Novas head coach Jesse Zentz.

The Windbag Saloon did what it could to help out the organization and hosted a “Windbag Cares” event Monday. From 5 p.m. to close, the Windbag donated 20 percent of its sales from the evening to help sponsor event and other costs associated with the club.

“It will also support the kids if we need to make equipment purchases like starting blocks, shot puts or discuses. It supports the entire club, and wherever we see a need, for the club, any dollar we get from this event will do that,” said Zentz. “It goes right directly back to the youth in Helena or to events in Helena that make it a better place to live and play.”
