Park City boys, Harlowton girls win Tri Valley track meet

COLUMBUS — Park City’s boys cruised to the team title on Thursday in Columbus at the Tri Valley track and field meet, while Harlowton narrowly edged Roberts to win the girls team title.

Park City had a handful of individual winners on Thursday afternoon to lead the Panthers to 146 points. Garrett Zimdars won the 100-meter dash in 11.82 seconds and placed second in the 200-meter dash to teammate Corbin Downing, who won in 23.74. Zimdars added another win in the 400-meter run in 55.68 seconds and the long jump with a leap of 19 feet, 1 inch.

Seth Popp claimed a victory in the high jump at 6-00, Garrett McMillen won the javelin with a throw of 135-10 and the Panthers won the 400-meter relay in 47.54.

Harlowton’s girls won the final event of the day, the 1,600-meter relay, to push the Engineers past Roberts for the team title. Harlowton finished with 89 points and Roberts finished with 87.

Emmy Martin had a pair of victories for Harlowton on the track, winning the 200 in 28.06 and the 300-meter hurdles in 53.40. Teammate Alexis Hagl won the 800-meter run in 2 minutes, 49.48 seconds.
