GREAT FALLS- Memorial Stadium in Great Falls hosted all 14 Class AA girls track and field teams for the annual Optimist Club Invitational on Friday. The Bozeman Hawks won the meet with 113 points.

Delaney Bahn led Bozeman with a record-breaking day. Bahn broke the Memorial Stadium record in the long jump, leaping 19 feet, 11.25 inches. That jump is also the farthest ever recorded in Montana according to the Montana High School Association record books. Bahn’s jump is also ranked nationally, coming in at No. 6. In late May, she will take aim at the all-class State record of 18-11.75, which was set by Dillon’s Julie Lenenger in 2001.

Bahn also went on to win the girls high jump by clearing 5-07, a new best in Montana this season.

Other notable performances included Helena High freshman Odessa Zentz winning the 400-meter dash in 58.47 seconds. Zentz is the only girl in Montana this season to go under 1 minute. Missoula Sentinel’s Ashley McElmurry claimed the triple jump with a leap of 39-09.75, which is the best in Montana this season.
