Missoula Sentinel boys dominate, Kalispell Flathead girls edge Missoula Big Sky for Missoula Invite titles

MISSOULA – 17 teams gathered at Missoula County Stadium for the Missoula Invite track and field meet on Saturday. Missoula Sentinel and Kalispell Flathead had the most success on a cool, cloudy day.

Sentinel’s boys dominated the competition, winning three events, taking second in two others, and showing their depth across the board to total 129.5 points. Kalispell Flathead took second with 95.

The Flathead girls hung on for a narrow victory over Missoula Big Sky, 119 to 117. The Eagles won the final event, the 1,600-meter relay to nearly overtake the Bravettes. But Flathead finished in fifth place to secure just enough points for the title.
