BOZEMAN — Fourteen schools traveled to Bozeman High School Saturday to compete in the TFMC Invitational track meet. Shields Valley won the girls title with 83.33 points and Manhattan Christian came in second with 64.33 points. Townsend won the boys team title with 153.5 points and Manhattan Christian followed with 125.5 points.

Shields Valley did most of its damage on the track. Haven and Rane Sager finished second and fourth in the 100-meter dash and third and fifth in the 200 meter dash, respectively. Morgan Fairchild finished second in the 400-meter dash, Molly Engle finished third in the 100-meter hurdles, and the Rebels’ 400-meter relay team won in 43.27 seconds.

Fairchild was the only Rebel girl to place in a field event, placing in all three jumps. Fairchild finished third in the high jump, third in triple jump and fourth in long jump.

Ennis standout Jourdain Klein won the triple jump with a leap of 35 feet, 2 inches, Class C’s best jump of the season and Montana’s No. 3 jump to date.

Townsend’s Aaron Geisser was just one of the Bulldogs to claim victory in an individual event. Geisser won the 100 in 11.68. Other Townsend winners include Louis Ingalls in the 1,600 (5 minutes, 9.86 seconds) and Tyson Racht in the 110-meter hurdles (16.90).

The Bulldogs also claimed second and third in the 400, as Ty Henry Steele and Zane Newman crossed behind Manhattan Christian’s Caleb Bellach. Racht and Geisser finished third and fourth in the triple jump, and Jadon Lamb and Justin Denton finished fourth and fifth in the shot put.
