BOZEMAN 3, HELENA HIGH 1

The Bozeman boys soccer team used a strong second half to come back and defeat Helena High 3-1 in the state quarterfinals at Bozeman High School on Friday afternoon. The Bengals came out of the gate strong, as Chase Lamach found the back of the net to give his team the 1-0 lead that lasted until halftime.

However, right after the second half whistle, Bozeman hit the switch. In the 41st minute, Jackson Coles found Andrew Johnson right on the doorstep to tie the game up. The Hawks didn't look back, scoring two more goals, while shutting down what was a strong Helena High attack in the first half.

Bozeman now moves on to the state semifinals.

HELENA CAPITAL 3, BILLINGS WEST 1

Caleb Hoxie, Ryan Quinn and Matt Wigton all netted goals as Helena Capital moved swiftly past Billings West 3-1 in quarterfinal soccer action on Friday at Northwest Park. The win moves the Bruins to next week's semifinals.

Hoxie and the Bruins wasted little time, scoring the first goal less than 10 minutes into the contest. Quinn added his score minutes later to give Capital a 2-0 lead at halftime. Wigton scored in the opening moments of the second half to build the 3-0 cushion, and despite a corner kick goal from Cade Hatheway, the game was never truly in doubt.
