Laurel is back in the Class A girls soccer title game and will take on Whitefish after the Bulldogs knocked off Laurel's Eastern A rival on Saturday.
Laurel 5, Columbia Falls 1
The Laurel girls dominated in the semifinal round of the Class A soccer playoffs, rolling past Columbia Falls 5-1 to advance their seventh straight state title game.
The Locomotives and Wildcats started out in a heated battle early in the first half of Saturday's semifinal match. After a 1-1 tie was broken from a Laurel goal off the foot of Maeson Cotter, the Locomotives cruised to a dominant win in the second half.
In the second half, Laurel scored three times with goals from Mya Maack, Allie Shovar and Morgan Maack to take the 5-1 victory.
Whitefish 1, Billings Central 0
In the other girls semifinal match, it was a different tale as one goal would be enough.
Whitefish scored in the second half and its defense held to take the 1-0 win.
The Bulldogs will take on Laurel next weekend for the Class A title.
