HELENA — The Helena High softball team is getting ready to take on top-seeded Great Falls High at the State AA tournament and is rallying behind a new motto in an effort to band together.
“Have grit and be together,” Bengals junior Mariah English said.
The motto instilled by Bengals head coach Ryan Schulte is now the team’s battle cry as it heads to the state tournament.
“The grit is finding love through whatever circumstances between us as a team and the coaches,” English said. “The togetherness is picking each other up after a bad play or just being there for one another and having each other’s backs.”
The Bengals will take on the top-seeded Great Falls High Bison in the first round of the Class AA state softball tournament at 4 p.m. Thursday.
