HELENA — The Helena Capital Bruins improved their conference record to 3-2 on the season after winning both softball games on Tuesday night at home against the Missoula Hellgate Knights, 18-2 and 10-1.
In Game 1, the Bruins broke open the game and scored 12 runs in the second inning to put the game well out of reach shortly after it began.
In Game 2, Bruins pitcher Nicole Ames pitched a gem where she gave up only one run, four hits, and four walks to six strikeouts.
The Bruins will get an off day on May 1 before making the trip with Helena High to Missoula to play both Missoula Sentinel and Missoula Big Sky on Thursday.
The Knights will host the Kalispell Glacier Wolfpack on May 2.
