Billings Skyview’s Jordan Roe wins girls soccer Gatorade honor

Posted

CHICAGO — In the fall, Billings Skyview’s girls won their first Class AA state soccer championship.

On Thursday, Jordan Roe became the Falcons’ first Gatorade girls soccer player of the year.

Roe, a 5-foot-4 junior forward, scored 21 goals and recorded a Class AA-record 20 assists in helping Skyview complete a 15-0 season on their way to the state championship. Roe had two goals and two assists in the Falcons’ 6-0 win over Missoula Big Sky in the title game.

“Jordan is an extremely dangerous player,” said former Billings Senior coach Megan Parish. “The only way to stop her is by putting two players on her. She is able to do things on the field that no one else can do.”

Roe, who carries a weighted 4.13 grade-point average and is a member of Skyview’s student council, was named the Eastern AA’s player of the year and has twice earned first-team all-state recognition. She has 41 goals and 37 assists going into her senior year at Skyview.

Kalispell Glacier’s Cadie Williams won the 2017-18 Gatorade award.
