CHURCHILL – One of the best golfers in the state signed her national letter of intent to stay in the Treasure State.

Manhattan Christian’s Jillian Frye officially committed to Rocky Mountain College Friday. Frye is the defending Class C state champion and has helped her Eagles win the past two state team titles. She’s now joining a Rocky Mountain team fresh off a Frontier Conference championship and a trip to nationals.

The Battlin’ Bears are on the of best programs in Montana and Frye is excited for her next chapter.

“Well, I was born in Billings, so it’s kind of home and we have so many family and friends there, so that was pretty appealing,” Frye said. “And then it’s just an amazing school, and they just had a new science department built, so that was one of the things, because i want to be a (physical therapist) and so I’ll be in that building a lot. And then the coach (Aaron Pohle), he’s just very successful, and, I mean, they just had an undefeated fall season and to pass that up was just really out of the question.”

Frye said that with college out of the way, her focus is winning a three-peat at state and setting the team-stroke record for Class C.
