BILLINGS – Belgrade shut out Billings Central 3-0 Saturday afternoon to seal the Eastern A title and keep Laurel’s playoff hopes alive.

Josiah Russell opened the scoring in the 12th minute after Kanon Tebo ran into the Rams box and dropped it off for Russell to slide past the goalie. Christian Aitchison doubled the lead in the 22nd minute, while Russell added his second in the 57th minute to seal the win.

The Panthers earned the East’s No. 1 seed in the upcoming State A boys playoffs. They will host the No. 3 seed from the South. Livingston is the East’s No. 2 seed, while Central held the No. 3 seed by one point over Laurel when the day began. A draw or win with Livingston Saturday night would give Laurel the final playoff spot, while a loss to the Rangers would put Central in the playoffs.
