GREAT FALLS – The Great Falls CMR soccer teams continued their dominance over their crosstown rival Great Falls High, sweeping both matches on Thursday night under the lights at Memorial Stadium.

In the first game, the Rustler boys topped the Bison 2-0. Senior forward Ward Cereck got the scoring started in the first half, beating his defender to a ball and keeping the goalie off balance with a shot to put CMR up 1-0 at the 26-minute mark.

In the second half, senior Blake Sowers beat two Bison defenders on a solo run finished off with a low ball past the keeper to provide the final score of 2-0.

The Rustler girls extended their winning streak over the Bison to four games in a hard-fought 2-1 win.

A chippy first half yielded only one score, an own goal deflected in by a Bison defender after a shot from Brynn Klinefelter for a 1-0 CMR lead at the break.

The teams traded goals early in the second half, but the Bison couldn’t find the equalizer in the final minutes despite several good runs in the opposing half.

The Rustler boys improve to 2-0-0 on the regular season, while the Bison fall to 1-1-1. CMR’s girls are now 1-0-1, while the Great Falls High girls are 1-1-0. Both teams return to action next weekend with games against Billings West and Bozeman on Friday and Saturday.
