SIDNEY — Kyler Garsjo and Ashtyn Swigart opened the 2018 prep golf season on a high note, winning the individual medalist honors at the Sidney Golf Triangular. Garsjo, Sidney’s No. 1 golfer, scored an 83 to win the boys race by four strokes. Miles City’s Swigart shot a blistering 82 to win by 14.
Each led their respective program to team titles at the triangular, the Sidney boys winning by 30 and Miles City girls victorious by six.
Garsjo posted a scorecard with 38 on the front nine and 45 on the back. Sidney’s Kade Anderson finished runner-up, four strokes behind Garsjo with an 87. Glendive’s Dalton Nicholson (89) was third, while Miles City’s Joel Christopherson and Sidney’s Josh Aisenbrey each posted 94s.
Sidney placed second and third in the girls competition, with Karly Volk’s 96 good for runner-up honors. Sarah Karanjai shot 109, as did Miles City’s Chaney LaPlante.
