GREAT FALLS – The Missoula Hellgate boys basketball team left Great Falls with a 65-30 win over CMR Friday night.
Camdyn LaRance led the Knights with 19 points, reigning Gatorade player of the year Rollie Worster had a quiet night offensively with just nine points, but he impacted the game with his defense and passing.
CMR’s physical defense gave Hellgate problems in the opening quarter, but the Knights held a 14-3 lead after the first eight minutes. Hellgate built a commanding lead in the second and went to halftime up 34-11. It was 48-17 entering the fourth quarter and both teams largely played reserves in the final frame.
Hellgate moved to 4-0 on the season and will open Western AA play next Thursday against Helena High. CMR falls to 1-3 and will close its non-conference schedule Saturday on the road at Helena Capital.
