Manhattan, which won the first football championship in program history last week, tops the Class B all-sports rankings after the 2020 high school fall sports season.
The Tigers recorded 24 points — 10 for the championship and seven each for second-place finishes in both boys and girls cross country. The all-sports rankings were calculated by applying point totals to team finishes in the fall sports of boys and girls cross country, volleyball and football. Ten points were awarded for a state title, seven points for a second-place finish, six for a third-place finish and so on, down to one point for an eighth-place finish.
Huntley Project finished second in the fall sports season with 16 points. The Red Devils had a runner-up finish in volleyball, a fourth-place finish in girls cross country and a fifth-place finish in boys cross country.
Townsend, which won the girls cross country state championship, scored 14.5 points to finish the fall in third. The Bulldogs also got points from a seventh-place finish in boys cross country and their appearance in the football playoffs. Townsend tied for fifth, sixth, seventh and eighth in football.
Joliet finished fourth in the all-sports rankings with 12.5 points, thanks in large part its volleyball state title. The J-Hawks also got points from their fifth/sixth/seventh/eighth tie in the 8-Man playoffs.
Eureka, which won the boys cross country state title, scored 10 points to tie with Three Forks for fifth place on the all-sports rankings.
