LAUREL -- Senior Night ended on a pair of high notes for Laurel's varsity soccer teams on Tuesday.

The Locomotives swept Livingston by a combined final of 12-0 between the boys and girls matches.

Senior Ethan Meccage put Laurel's guys on the board six minutes into the early game. Fellow senior Matt Mosby followed in the 19th minute for a 2-0 halftime lead. Kyle DeSmet added a left-footed rocket off the right post in the 56th minute before Meccage iced the 4-0 final by dribbling through four defenders and connecting from 10 yards.

Laurel's boys said goodbye to 10 seniors in their regular-season finale. The Eastern A champions open Class A playoffs next week.

The Locomotive girls are still in contention to win the Eastern A title after an 8-0 shutout over Livingston. Forward Sammi Spitzer was honored as Laurel's lone senior.

Junior Kadee Grammar scored a hat trick in the second half on a windy night at Laurel Sports Complex. Morgan Maack tallied two goals and two assists while freshman sister Mya added a pair of first-half goals.

The Locomotives now wait for Saturday's regular-season finale between the Rangers and Billings Central to determine whether they'll be a No. 1 or No. 2 seed to open next week's State A playoffs. Laurel is battling Billings Central for this year's conference crown. The two have also met in Montana's last four state championship matches and combined to win the last 11.
