MISSOULA -- The Missoula Hellgate Knights have swept the regular-season crosstown series against Sentinel after both the boys and girls basketball teams were victorious Thursday night.

The boys game tipped off the doubleheader, and it was Hellgate’s big three of Cam LaRance, Abe Johnson and Rollie Worster who led the way for the Knights offensively. The Knights led by 10 at the half, then by 15 after three, before ultimately winning by a final of 60-41.

The win keeps the undefeated season alive for the boys, who remain atop the Western AA standings at 16-0 (13-0 in conference). Sentinel was without junior Tony Frolich-Fair, but Alex Germer played well leading the Spartans in scoring.

The girls game was the night cap of the crosstown doubleheader, and both squads came out firing from 3. Hellgate jumped out to an early 10-point lead at the end of the first, thanks to the sharp shooting of sophomore Bailee Sayler.

Sentinel would crawl back in the second quarter as it would get hot from 3 late to cut the deficit to four at the half thanks to sophomore Brooke Stayner and Jayden Salisbury. After the break, Hellgate would go on to dominate in the second half, ultimately defeating its crosstown rival by a final of 63-44.
