HELENA -- The Helena High Bengals boys and girls soccer teams raised the crosstown crown after beating the Helena Capital Bruins Thursday. In the boys game, most of the first half was an defensive stalemate, with neither team able to break through with much success. Helena High took control late in the first half and netted three goals to build a commanding lead headed into the second half. Both teams broke through one more time before the match reached it's conclusion with Helena High being declared the victor by a score of 4-1.
In the girls game, the Helena High Bengals were the only team to find the net, taking a 1-0 lead into halftime. After the half, Helena High tacked on two more before fending off multiple Helena Capital attempts to chip away at the lead, ending the game at a final score of 3-0.
The Helena High Bengals will now head out on the road to face Missoula Sentinel on October 3, and the Helena Capital Bruins will face the Missoula Big Sky Eagles.
