WORDEN – The district championship is set for Saturday night among 6C girls basketball teams. It’ll be Bridger and Plenty Coups.
Top-seeded Bridger took care of business in Thursday’s semifinal, beating Absarokee 48-36. Bridger’s big quarter was in the second when the Scouts outscored the Huskies 15-4.
Jessica Adkins led everybody in scoring with 23 points for Bridger, and also corralled seven rebounds. Emily Adkins chipped in with 12 points and Hope Buessing had seven.
Mallory Sheppard and Lexi Feddes each scored 10 for Absarokee.
Plenty Coups’ girls won every quarter in their 53-38 win over Reed Point-Rapelje. The Warriors led 13-6 after one and 28-19 at halftime.
Sylvie Stewart led Plenty Coups with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Sephra Covers scored 11 points. Carlee Blodgett led all scorers with 18 for Reed Point-Rapelje. Mercedes Hoff added 13.
Saturday’s girls championship is set for 6 p.m. inside the Huntley Project gym. The boys title game will follow at 8 p.m. Their semifinals are Friday night.
