LAUREL – The Railyard was rocking Tuesday night in Laurel as the Locomotives earned a pair of double-digit varsity basketball wins over Miles City.
Laurel’s boys jumped out to a 21-15 halftime lead, then increased it to 37-24 after three quarters. They led by as many as 18 in the fourth quarter before icing a 51-34 final.
Nick Pasquerello and Logan Kennedy each scored 12 for Laurel. Steven Ray led Miles City (5-9 overall, 3-5 Eastern A) with 11 points.
The Locomotives (9-5, 4-3) play at Belgrade on Saturday.
Laurel’s girls ran away from the Cowgirls 55-26 to keep sole possession of the Eastern A lead.
The Locomotives (10-4, 6-1) held a 10-point cushion at halftime after opening with a 14-4 lead.
Mya Hansen finished with 14 points for Laurel. Aspen Cotter followed with 12. Madison Rask led the Cowgirls (5-9, 2-6) with seven.
