BILLINGS – For the second straight meeting, Laurel pushed Billings West for three quarters before the Bears pulled away for a 45-29 win Saturday at the Golden Dome.
Laurel held West to its lowest scoring half of the season in the team’s first meeting on Dec. 15, taking an 18-17 lead into halftime before the Bears pulled away. Saturday, West managed just 20 points in the opening 16 minutes, before turning it on once again.
West outscored the Locomotives 25-12 after the break to run away with the win. Willa Albrecht led the Bears with 12 points, while TyLee Manuel added 10. Laurel freshman Mya Hansen led all scorers with 14.
The win moves West to 10-1 overall, while Laurel falls to 9-4.
