BILLINGS – Billings West opened the fourth quarter on an 8-0 run to pull away from a strong Bozeman team Thursday night for a 53-43 Eastern AA girls basketball win.
The teams were tied after the first and second quarters, and West led just 36-35 after the third. TyLee Manuel scored back-to-back buckets to open the fourth, followed by driving lay-ups from Shea Dolan and TyRaa Manuel to increase the lead to 44-35. Bozeman twice cut the deficit to four but could never get closer.
Maddie and Willa Albrecht scored the first 12 points of the game for West and combined for 20 total. Senior Shayla Montague had an off shooting night, making just two 3-pointers in the game on her way to nine points. They were West’s only made 3s, both coming in the second half.
Ayla Embry led Bozeman with 12 points.
West moves to 9-1 overall with the win, 4-1 in conference. Bozeman drops to 5-5, 3-2.
