HELENA — Both the Helena Capital Bruins and the Helena High Bengals girls basketball teams nabbed wins on Dec. 20 against Great Falls CMR and Great Falls High, respectively.
Helena Capital vs. Great Falls CMR
The Bruins jumped out to an early lead over the Rustlers, finishing the first quarter with a 14-point lead and never looking back. Capital posted over 20 points in each of the first three quarters, with three players posting double digit’s in the points column. Helena Capital won by a score of 76-47 and stays undefeated headed into the holiday break, as the Rustlers drop to 1-3.
Helena High vs. Great Falls High
The defending champion Bengals and the Bison both struggled to score early in a contest, where points were at a premium. With both teams playing a full-court press defense, at the end of the first quarter the score was 7-2. Helena eventually broke through the Bison defense as the game wore on, leading to a 43-27 victory. Helena High will also stay undefeated headed into the holiday break, as the Bison drop four straight games.
