BILLINGS – The Billings Central girls basketball team jumped out to an eight-point lead after the first quarter and never trailed again on its way to a 55-48 win at Class AA foe Billings Senior Tuesday night.
Junior post Julia Peterson was 8-for-8 from the free throw line in the opening quarter to help the Rams to a 17-9 lead. They increased that to 10 at halftime, 28-18. Senior would climb back within four early in the third, but Central pushed the lead back to 10 within minutes.
Central ballooned the lead to 13 midway through the fourth. Senior again climbed within four, but couldn’t get any closer.
The Rams are now 3-1 on the season as they head to Billings Skyview Saturday. Senior falls to 1-4 and are off until 2019.
