BRIDGER – The Bridger board of trustees announced Monday night that they recently approved the hiring of Matt Kleinsasser to fill the school’s head girls basketball coach.

According to a media release from the Scouts, Kleinsasser brings several years of boys and girls head coaching experience to the Lady Scouts. They include stops at Plevna, Circle, Forsyth and Rosebud over the past 18 years.

“The Lady Scouts return a number of key players from last year’s team which saw one of their most successful seasons in a long time,” said Kleinsasser. “I am looking forward to working with these young ladies and building off the success they had last year.”

Kleinsasser began his teaching career in Plevna as a teacher and coach before moving to Circle for a similar position. He has also been the superintendent and principal at Ashland Public and Rosebud Public School. Kleinsasser was most recently the principal and AD at Sweet Grass High School before stepping down last spring to pursue business opportunities, according to the release.

“This district and division are always competitive and I am looking forward to jumping back into the Southern C where I started my coaching career,” he said.
