Bozeman Gallatin boys, Bozeman girls win Butte Golf Invite

FAIRMONT -- The Bozeman Gallatin Raptors boys and the Bozeman Hawks girls golf teams continued to dominate the 2020 high school golf season, winning the team titles at the Butte Invitational on Thursday.

The Raptors were again led by the Verge twins: Jordan took first place overall in the tournament with a 68 and his brother Justus took third with a 77.

The Raptors ran away from the competition as whole Thursday, shooting a total of 309 strokes, with Billings Senior the next-closest team with a 324. Bozeman took third with a 330.

As for the Bozeman girls, they remain undefeated with the team win, making it four straight invitational titles.

Cooper Knarr led all the girls in the tournament with a 78 on the day. Her teammate Sami Yates took fourth with an 81.

Those two would lead Bozeman, and the team won the tournament with a total of 350. They barely edged out Billings Senior, which had a 352 on the day.
