CUSTER — Grass Range-Winnett’s Zane Stahl remembers the beating Wibaux gave his team during the 6-Man football semifinals in the fall. The Longhorns beat the Rangers 60-6 to advance to the 6-Man title game, which Wibaux eventually won.

That loss has left a sour taste in Stahl’s mouth ahead of Saturday’s 6-Man all-star game in Custer. Stahl’s Red team, consisting of players from the North and South, is looking for a win against the Blue team, consisting of three Wibaux players and its head coach.

“They’re big and fast. They beat us in the semifinals to get into the championship,” Stahl said of team Blue and its Wibaux connections. “They’re big and fast, but we’ve got a couple big and fast kids, too, so it’ll be an interesting matchup. It’ll be fun.”

Kickoff is slated for 7:10 p.m. on Saturday evening. Rosters for the 2019 6-Man all-star game can be found here.
